Can you say “beautiful mess” or “track rat” and hate yourself so much that you’d enjoy working on this thing? These proto evos are super cool and this one has double the asking price of parts on it. Evo 8 suspension, rebuilt motor, the whole 9. You know this guy is the real deal because he wrote a full paragraph on his pricey engine mods without making a horsepower claim. Awesome, and the interior looks great for 200k. Leather too! Nice! Makes me wonder if that is an addition from another Mitsu which would make this poster a gentleman AND a scholar. Tip of the fedora, m’lady, etc.

I’m a little salty on red NA drivers right now Aesthetics. Was just on a first date which was fortunately going so well that this was funny, we were just kinda gawking at each other and this teenager drove by and disgraced the NA by yelling “JUST GO FUCK” at the top of his lungs.

I’ve been yelled at by teenagers a few times while driving my NA. My go-to response when some kid shouts “You look gay in that car!” is to just reply with a loud “Thanks!” It always confuses them.

Maaaaan I’ve gotten nothing but positive remarks on the Miata. Girls all seem to love it, old lady’s love it, old guys do too, and now that it’s clearly modified a ton of younger guys are always coming up to it. The only negative-ish response I’ve gotten was someone on Bumble saying she “almost swiped left because of the Miata”, but she drove a neon so I figured she was just mentally unwell

I’ve met some pretty bad Miata owners. Not many, but the ones who were bad.... Were just on another level of trash. Had one dude in a cut springs, hood exhaust, riding on bumpstops monstrosity chase me through a city. In my rear view I could see him fishtailing (on dry pavement) while swerving in and out of traffic, people honking left and right. I’m no granny behind the wheel but good god. I don’t want to be associated with those breeding failures! But at the same time.... For all the obvious faults they’re still enthusiasts so I feel bad about hating on them...

And assuming you hadn’t already eaten, chances are you could have ran the red NA driver down on foot

I already have one modified turbo 4 to worry about right now lol SMH. I wasn’t used to the new louder idle with the downpipe/stage2+ tune since its only been on the road for a week... freaked the fuck out because I thought I had knock until I turned my head 90 degrees and realized it wasn’t an engine sound. Not before I stuck my head out the window and revved it a few times, looking very confused, but not as confused as everyone walking down the sidewalk.

So no I’m good on the rally car for the road style torture devices, have one already haha

The only negative comments I get are from kids, so it doesn’t really get to me because kids are dumb. It’s only been a few times. Mine is still bone stock so it probably doesn’t get the same types of looks as yours does.

The NA Miata is a cute car. Full stop. There’s nothing wrong with that. Between that and my Fiat 500, I’ve heard all of the comments that you’d expect. One of these days I should write a cute car comparison.

Yeah as we all know there are 2 kinds of NA drivers: bone stock or cool mods because you’re a driver, or HOLY SHIT WHY and nothing in between.

I thoroughly enjoy making other people uncomfortable after they attempt that on me (fucked with the wrong one!! <—- pun unintended, leaving it) and would have chased after him to say something even more strange and off color, (like offering him my number if he wants to join in with maybe a Reddit worthy fetish screening question) since we were in a parking lot and he was in 1st gear. But you know, making a good impression on girls and stuff SMH

There is definitely a correlation. I think its the actual Neon driving that makes you unwell. A high school friend who had a top gear watching, ex rally car driver irish father bought a neon as his first car and was convinced that it was a handling machine after just a month behind the wheel.
